Not to mention some Hot TIPS for you budding new artists.
Join me in this step by step painting process. From the blank canvas this cute cow will emerge through the strokes of my brush into the finished work. She is 1 meter by 1 meter with gentle eyes.

NEVER USE TURPS to clean your brushes instead use artists quality LINSEED OIL.
FINALLY with a little water, slurry up your brush on a cake of “THE MASTER’S” SOAP FOR ARTISTS; available in most PROFESSIONAL ARTISTS SUPPLY SHOPS.
When all the paint has been gently removed, rinse the brush well in clean water, smooth the bristles and leave to dry flat.
Not only does this method preserve your precious brushes but unlike TURPS, it is NOT TOXIC and it is A GOOD CHOICE FOR OUR PLANET.
Happy painting!
Enjoy this short video of the creation and development at each stage of this painting.
As the saying goes, “Out with the old and in with the new”, after nearly ten years my old site was ready for retirement. I hope that you will find visiting this new; state of the art site, easy to navigate and full of pleasant surprises as I add more and more interesting material. There will be videos, demonstrations, blogs, previews and works in progress. You are welcome to comment and add your suggestions.
I would also like to thank Paul Atkinson who has made it all possible, by building this site and having the patience to teach me how to manage it. Thank you Paul (paulatkinson.co.nz).
